ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 19 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team battled the No. 11 Carnegie Mellon University Tartans in Orlando on Friday. The Gusties fell 6-1 to the Tartans, moving to 10-4 overall this year.
Carnegie won #2 and #3 doubles to earn the team point, but
Karina Elvestrom and
Kaya De Bruijn won the #1 match 6-4 for Gustavus.
In singles,
Ella De Young earned the lone win for the Gusties, taking #5 singles 6-3, 6-3. The Tartans won the remaining singles matches in their 6-1 win.
