BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College student-athletes excelled in the classroom this past semester as 189 Gusties who competed in winter and spring sports were named Academic All-Conference award winners, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced on Thursday.
Gustavus' 189 Academic All-Conference winners were the second most for a MIAC institution this winter and spring. St. Olaf led the MIAC with 197 honorees. Macalester followed the Gusties in third place with 132 selections. Carleton and Bethel rounded out the top-five finishers in the conference with 125 and 118 respectively.
The 189 awards earned in the winter and spring combined with the 85 earned in the
fall brings the Gusties total to 274 Academic All-Conference awards earned during the 2025-26 athletic year.
MIAC student-athletes must meet both academic and athletic qualifications to earn Academic All-Conference honors.
Academically, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale based on the end of the term when the competitive season is completed, and must have completed one academic year (full-time) at the institution before becoming eligible the following year.
Athletically, they must be an eligible member of a MIAC-sponsored varsity sports team, have utilized a season of participation (per NCAA and MIAC definitions), and have remained on the sports roster through the conclusion of the sports season.
