TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) officially honored their Division III Women's Tennis All-Americans for the 2025-26 athletic year on Wednesday with
Karina Elvestrom and
Kaya De Bruijn of the No. 15 nationally-ranked Gustavus women's tennis team being recognized for their All-American accomplishments this past year.
Elvestrom was recognized for winning Division III Women's Singles All-American honors. The sophomore, ranked No. 73 in the nation in singles, earned the national award by winning her second-consecutive ITA Midwest Regional Singles Championship this past fall, winning six matches in a row against the other top singles players in the region to take the regional title and earn All-American honors.
In doubles, the team of Elvestrom and De Bruijn were both recognized for earning Division III Women's Doubles All-American honors. The doubles duo, ranked No. 19 in the nation, won five consecutive matches against the other top doubles teams in the region this past September to clinch the ITA Midwest Regional Doubles Championship, earning All-American accolades for both. They earned their All-American award again with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 win in the first round of the ITA Cup, advancing to the national quarterfinals.
Gustavus women's tennis finished their team competition this season with a 30-6 overall record. In the MIAC, Gustavus went undefeated through all 10 matches to win their second consecutive and 32nd overall regular season championship. In the postseason, a pair of 4-0 wins over Bethel and Carleton secured their second in a row and 10th all-time MIAC Playoff title for the Gusties. Gustavus then hosted an NCAA Regional for the national tournament, defeating No. 28 UW-La Crosse 4-0 in the second round to advance to the Sweet 16.
