9/13/2026 8:28:00 PM

HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's golf team hosted and competed in their D3 Classic this weekend. The Gusties opened the tournament with a round of +19 on Saturday and shot +23 on Sunday to place third of 18 teams at the invite with a weekend score of +42. The Gustavus B-team placed 12th at the tournament with a team score of +76.

"Turned out to be a super competitive event," said Gustavus head coach Scott Moe. "We didn't finish our rounds quite as well as we did yesterday, but super happy with how hard we competed. Our conference is very strong this year, each week will be a battle and you need to be on your game to finish towards the top. We had a very young roster this weekend going with two sophomores and three first years. I think we learned a few things as the weekend went on."

Saint Benedict won the tournament with a team score of +35. Macalester was the runner-up, shooting +38. After the Gusties' +42 was St. Olaf at +43 and Bethel at +45 to round out the top-five finishers.

Addison Longie led Gustavus with a weekend score of +5, placing fourth overall out the field of 112 golfers. The sophomore shot +1 on Saturday and closed out the tournament with a round of +4 on Sunday.

Teckla Wahlstrand followed for the Gusties, shooting +9 with rounds of +5 and +4 to tie for 13th overall. Annika Johnson followed, shooting +7 in the opening round and +4 in the final 18 to tie for 19th overall at +11.

Sydney Lovick of the Gusties' B-team shot +16 for the fourth-best Gustavus score of the tournament, tying for 32nd overall. Karina Johnson had the fourth and final counted score for the Gusties' A-team, shooting +17 in the tournament to tie for 34th overall.

"Congratulations to Addy for finishing fourth in a very deep individual field," said Moe. "Annika, Teckla, and Addy all posted strong 76s today. All 11 players competed hard and that is always awesome to see. Big tournament coming up this weekend hosted by St. Kate's, looking forward to another opportunity."

Up next for Gustavus is the St. Kate's Invitational at the Braemar Golf Course in Edina and the Eagle Valley Golf Course in Woodbury. The two-day tournament begins on Saturday, September 19.
