Andrew Woitas, a 2010 Gustavus graduate, is in his eighth season on the Gustavus baseball coaching staff in the 2024-25 academic year.

Woitas joined the staff as a full-time assistant in 2018 and was named the associate head baseball coach in the fall of 2023.

Last season, Woitas and head coach Brad Baker '80 guided the Gusties to a 23-16 overall record and 12-8 mark in the MIAC. In Woitas' second year as a full-time assistant, he helped lead the team to its first MIAC title since 1980. The Gusties also claimed the MIAC regular season championship in the 2023 season.

Woitas returned to his alma mater after spending the previous seven years as an assistant baseball coach at Minnetonka High School. During that time, Woitas also coached a youth baseball traveling team, the Minnesota Blizzard. He continues to work with the Blizzard, as well as the Saint Peter-based 507 Baseball Academy, Southern Minnesota's premier baseball training academy.

In addition to coaching in the diamond, Woitas assists the Gustavus recruiting efforts while handling logistical elements such as budgeting and travel arrangements.

The Sleepy Eye, Minn. native earned MIAC All-Conference honors his senior season after starting all 38 games as an outfielder or pitcher. He batted .406 and led the team with 52 hits, seven doubles, three triples, and 65 total bases. Woitas’ 128 career hits rank 24th in program history and his 141 career games played is 13th. Woitas shared the field with his twin brother Alan, also a 2010 graduate and four-year member of the Gustavus baseball team.

Andrew and his wife, Bridget (Burtzel) ’09, live in Saint Peter and have three daughters, Olivia, Emma and Claire.
