Kevin Durham is in his second season as a member of the Gustavus football coaching staff in the 2024-25 academic year.Â
Durham, who joined the program's coaching staff as defensive graduate assistant and strength & conditioning coach, is now serving as the co-offensive coordinator, a position he accepted in the summer of 2024. Durham works alongside long-time assistant and director of football operations Carlin Shoemaker.
Last season, Durham helped lead the 2023 football team to its first MIAC championship game since 1987, finishing 6-4 overall and 5-2 in the MIAC. The Gusties, after defeating nationally-ranked No. 7 Saint John's for the first time in 10 years, won the Northwoods Division for the first time since the MIAC's divisional structure was created.
Durham has been a member of the Gustavus football team for a number of historical seasons as both a player and a coach. In 2022, Durham was a player on the team that set a new record for the largest margin of victory, a 77-7 win over St. Scholastica on October 8. In 2021, with Durham on the team, the Gusties posted the best record since 1998 with a mark of 8-2 overall.Â
Durham, a 2023 graduate of Gustavus, was a four-year member for the football team. Durham played in 11 games as a running back for the Gusties, totaling 305 yards on 66 rushing attempts. Durham scored two rushing touchdowns in his career as well.Â
