Tony Adamczak will be in his second season as an assistant for the Gustavus men's basketball team in the 2024-25 academic year.Â
Adamczak joined the Gustie squad prior to an historical 2023-24 season.
Last year, the Gustie men's basketball team had an historical season, winning the 2024 MIAC Playoff Championship after an epic postseason run. The playoff title was the first for the Gusties since 2005. The Gusties fell to Loras in the first round of the national tournament, finishing the season 18-11 overall and 14-6 in the MIAC, the best record in a dozen years.
Before arriving at Gustavus, Adamczak spent time at the College of St. Scholastica, UW-River Falls, and at the high school level with Duluth East for four years. While a coach at his alma mater, Adamczak helped the Saints to an overall record of 7-18 and a MIAC mark of 6-14.
Adamczak has also spent time coordinating basketball camps with ND42 Basketball Camps throughout the Midwest and was the head trainer at Legacy Hoops Academy in Woodbury during 2022.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Adamczak was a four-year member of the St. Scholastica men's basketball team. The Moose Lake, Minn. native played in 40 games as a guard for the Saints. As a player, Adamczak received the team's Hustle Award and Saints Award in his junior and senior seasons, respectively. Â
Adamczak graduated from St. Scholastica in 2017 with a B.A. in Management and earned his master’s degree of Coaching Education and Athlete Development from Xavier University in 2020.
He and his wife Michala live in Saint Peter.
