Dan Wolfe is entering his sixteenth season as the assistant coach for the Gustavus women's basketball program in 2023-24. The Montgomery, Minn. native has 45 years of coaching experience, 19 as a head coach prior to joining the Gusties, Wolfe taught physical education at Armstrong Middle School and St. James High School and served as the head girls' basketball coach at St. James from 2004-08. He compiled a record of 64-37, while his teams won the South Central Conference in 2005 and 2007 and finished runner-up in 2006. 

After earning his bachelor's degree from Winona State University in 1979 in physical education and coaching with DAPE certification, Wolfe began his career at New Ulm Cathedral High School where he was the head boys' basketball coach from 1987-2001. As head coach, the two-time Tomahawk Conference Coach of the Year led the Greyhounds to conference championships in 1989 and 1999, a subsection title in 1996, and a state tournament appearance in 1999. 

Wolfe was named MN Girls AAU basketball coach of the year in 2017 by kjasr.com and again in 2018 by prepgirlshoops.com.

Along with his coaching duties, Wolfe teaches in the health and exercise science department. Dan resides in New Ulm, Minn. with his wife, Jean.
