Jenny Schmidt is in her seventh season as an assistant for the volleyball team in the 2024-25 academic year.
Schmidt, a 2011 graduate of Gustavus, serves as the Talent Acquisition Manager in the Gustavus Human Resources department.Â
While at Gustavus, Jenny Ewert Schmidt was a four-year member of both the volleyball and softball teams. As a defensive specialist for the volleyball team, Schmidt played in 373 games, accumulating 1,240 career digs, a mark that ranks seventh in program history. Schmidt was named the volleyball team's 2010 MIAC Academic All-Conference honoree, was selected to the 2010 MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team, and was named the team's Defensive MVP in her senior season.
As a member of the softball team, Schmidt played in 151 games, posting a batting average of 0.311 on 133 hits in 427 at-bats. She is tied for ninth in program history with 138 at-bats in one season (2010). She was a member of the Gustavus softball team during its 2009 run at the College World Series, and was an All-MIAC Honorable Mention selection in 2011.Â
After graduating, she attended the University of Dubuque to obtain her Masters in Business Administration and served as the Graduate Assistant Volleyball Coach for two seasons. In 2013, Jenny returned to Gustavus and acted as an assistant volleyball coach for two seasons. Over the next six years, Jenny worked as a Recruiter for a production facility, a commercial cleaning company, and an engineering and consulting firm in the Twin Cities.
Jenny lives in Saint Peter with her husband, Anders (’06), and their three daughters.Â
