GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Gustavus men's tennis wrapped up its opening weekend with a match against Division I University of North Dakota on Sunday. The Gusties, who competed against DI Creighton University the day before, fell to the Fighting Hawks 0-7.
The Gusties' doubles team put up a fight against the undefeated Fighting Hawks. The pairs of
Nick Aney (Sr., Rochester) and
Marco Siviero (So., Sao Miguel de Oeste, Brazil) and
Daniel Fouchier (Sr., Nootdorp, Netherlands) and
Taona Mhwandagara (So., Harare, Zimbabwe) both dropped 6-7 decisions in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots for the Gusties.
Alex Budde (Sr., Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and
Gage Gohl (Fy., Sioux Falls, S.D.) picked up the Gusties' only win of the day, winning 6-4 in the No. 3 spot.
The Gusties are off to Florida this week for a series of six matches from Feb. 2 to Feb. 4.
