BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Birgen Nelson (Sr., Edina) shattered the NCAA Division III 100-hurdles record in the preliminary round of the Maverick Open with an all-conditions time of 13.32. Nelson clocked a 13.62 in the finals to win the event. Nelson also set new facility and meet records in the 400-hurdles with a time of 1:00.19. That time ranks first in the MIAC and second in Division III this season. For her performance, Nelson was named MIAC Track Athlete of the Week.
