LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Gustavus softball right fielder Greta Dahlen (So., West Des Moines, Iowa) was one of nine players to be named a 2023 Rawlings Gold Glove Award recipient, presented by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). This is the inaugural year for the award at the Division III level, and is presented to the top nine defensive players at their respective positions from all collegiate divisions.

Daheln, in her 2023 season, started in 40 games in right field for the Gusties. The sophomore earned the award by recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, committing no errors in 62 total chances. Dahlen notched 60 putouts and two assists. She was one of only four MIAC softball athletes with a perfect fielding percentage, and is the only outfielder among the top four.

Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the 10 regional representatives of the NFCA's NCAA Division III All-America Committee, following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position. The group utilized fielding statistics and school-submitted video to closely examine finalists and select the winners at every defensive position. Any student-athlete that competed in the current championship year and was nominated by their head coach who is a member in good standing with the NFCA was eligible for consideration for this prestigious accolade.
