AUSTIN, Texas - College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2023 Academic All-America Volleyball Teams on Tuesday and Gustavus senior setter
Kasie Tweet was selected to the Division III Second Team. Academic All-America Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Tweet, a nursing major with a 3.94 GPA, joins a long list of Gusties to earn CSC Academic All-America honors, capturing the College's 133rd award and first of the 2023-24 academic year. This past season, Tweet earned AVCA All-America, First Team All-Region, MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, MIAC All-Conference, MIAC Playoff All-Tournament Team, and AVCA National Player of the Week on Oct. 30. Tweet ranked ninth in NCAA Division III in assists pet set (10.29) and fifth in total assists (1,214). With Tweet running the offense, Gustavus ranked first in nine of 13 statistical categories in MIAC play and dropped just one set during the regular season in all of conference play (33-1). Gustavus also ranked No. 13 in digs per set and No. 24 for kills per set in Division III. In the MIAC, Tweet ranked No. 1 in overall and MIAC assists per set, No. 20 in overall digs per set, and No. 21 in overall aces per set. This past season Tweet was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Augsburg and UW-Whitewater tournaments and received MIAC Player of the Week honors twice. Tweet surpassed 3,000 career assists, currently ranks fifth in career assists, and 13th in all-time digs at Gustavus. Tweet is the leader of the team and played the most significant role in the team's third straight MIAC championship and NCAA tournament round of 32 finish.
Tweet is the first Gustie volleyball student-athlete to earn CSC Academic All-America since Kate Holtan in 2020. To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, played in at least 90 percent of the team's competition throughout the season, reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution, and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
