BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Kasie Tweet (5th, Adrian, Minn.) has been selected as the MIAC Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the fourth time this season and the sixth time of her career on Monday, Nov. 11.

Tweet proved just why she was named the National Player of the Week by the AVCA in the Gusties' only match of the week against St. Catherine on Saturday. Tweet led an offense that collected a season-high 72 kills with a .265 efficiency in just four sets. The fifth-year setter totaled 60 assists, just one shy of her season-high set in September against UW-Eau Claire. Her 60 assists are the most for any four-set match in Division III this season.

She added a pair of set-over kills, a solo block, as well as 13 digs to complete her 12th double-double of the season. Tweet's performance helped the Gusties lock up their third consecutive undefeated MIAC season - the first team in recorded conference history to do so, as well as the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and the program's 10th MIAC Regular Season Championship.

Tweet and the Gusties ended the regular season with marks of 12.84 assists per set (1st MIAC/7th NCAA), 14.07 kills per set (1st MIAC/4th NCAA), and 1,407 team kills (1st MIAC/19th NCAA). Individually, Tweet led the MIAC with 10.94 assists per set (4th NCAA) and 1,061 total assists (8th NCAA).

The Gusties locked up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MIAC Playoffs, set to begin with quarterfinals on Tuesday. The conference tournament will once again run through Saint Peter, with Gustavus receiving a bye through the first round. The Gusties will face the winner of Saint Benedict (12-11, 8-3 MIAC) and Augsburg (16-13, 7-4 MIAC) at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
