COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Gustavus was represented by
Kendra Smaby and
Maddox Lee at the NCGA National Championship on Saturday at Ursinus College.Â
Lee took part in the beam and finished in 29th place with a score of 9.600. Lee finished her season on the beam scoring at least a 9.600 five times. Bryce Stoltz of Winona State won the national title with a 9.850.Â
Smaby competed on bars and took 46th place with a score of 8.275. Emily Buffington of UW-Oshkosh and Hayden Gough of UW-Whitewater shared the title with a score of 9.850.Â
UW-Oshkosh won the team title with a score of 194.975.Â
The NCGA also announced its Academic All-Americans at the conclusion of the national meet and all seven Gustavus seniors were recognized -
Izzy Breitkreutz,
Katy Cash,
Caylee Greeder,
Kimika Ishikawa-Temple,
Sophie Schmitz,
Kendra Smaby, and
Abby Willis. NCGA Academic All-America recognizes seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher who appear on the team's NCGA squad list for the current year. Each nominee must qualify as a senior student academically and be in her last year of athletic eligibility.
