VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Gustavus junior
Megan Geraets took seventh place in the 200-meter Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, earning All-America honors. Geraets clocked a finals time of 24.83 after posting a time of 24.63 in the prelims Friday.Â
"It feel so special to be an All-American and to accomplish this for myself, my teammates, my coaches, the Mankato East High School community, and the Gustavus and MIAC communities," Geraets said. "Competing alongside my teammate, Kate, made the experience all the more amazing. Celebrating this accomplishment today, and looking forward to the outdoor season with my teammates."Â
"I am incredibly proud of Megan and Kate this weekend and throughout this indoor season," Head Coach
Aaron Lund said. "They are now the two best indoor 200-meter runners in the history of the MIAC. They have worked incredibly hard to get to where they are at and definitely deserve this moment. Megan's performance tops her best time from last outdoor season. That is a very hard thing to do so I am very excited to see what she can accomplish this outdoor season."Â
Geraets is now the school record holder in the indoor 200-meter and becomes the first All-American in the 200 in program history.Â
