MADISON, Wis. – Maddox Lee (Jr., Hugo, Minn.) was named the WIAC Women's Gymnastics All-Arounder of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Lee totaled a 38.050 to place first in the all-around competition against reigning national champions UW-Oshkosh last Friday, the fifth-highest all-around total in program history. Lee's career-high all-around score is a 38.300, a score she set in the 2023-24 season, which ranks third in program history behind only Alex Kopp '17 (38.525) and Annie Corbett '23 (38.450).
Lee's 38.050 featured a 9.450 on vault, a 9.525 on uneven bars, a 9.550 on balance beam, and a 9.575 on floor exercise. Lee made her season-debut on vault on Friday, and her 9.450 helped the Gusties break the previous program record score in the event with a 47.650. Lee owns the top two team scores on bars and two of the top three on beam for Gustavus this season.
This is Lee and the Gusties' first weekly honor of the season and the second of her career, as she was selected as the All-Around Athlete of the Week on Feb. 13 of last season. UW-Stout's Gillian Cummins and Winona State's Jessica Miley were also nominated for the award.
The Gusties (1-1, 1-1 WIAC) continue their road trip next weekend, heading to Providence, R.I. for a triangular with Rhode Island College (1-3 overall) and Utica (3-1 overall) on Saturday, Jan. 18.
