SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men's cross country team will compete in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championship this Saturday, November 1 at the Highland 9 Cross Country Trailhead in St. Paul. The Gusties will compete against the 10 other teams in the MIAC in the 8k race starting at 11:00 a.m.

Gustavus enters the conference championship race this season led by junior Nick Brauer. This fall, Brauer leads the Gusties with a top time of 25:45, set at the Dan Huston Invite on October 4th.

Following Brauer for the Gusties is Will Janzen, who's top time this fall is 26:18. Evan Pouliot is third this fall for Gustavus with a top time of 26:24; just six seconds behind Janzen. Soren Sackreiter (26:34) and Matthew Berge (27:22) round out the top five runners by top time this fall for the Gusties, with Caden Riga (27:42) and Ethan Cox (28:05) following at sixth and seventh.

Last year, the Gusties placed sixth in the 2024 MIAC Championship. Janzen finished 25th overall out of the field of 172 runners as a junior with a time of 26:05.1. Pouliot placed 40th as a sophomore at 26:47.0.

The results of the MIAC Championship will determine the All-Conference award winners as the top 15 finishers are named All-Conference and finishers 16-25 are honorable mentions. The individual winner will be named the MIAC Athlete of the Year, and coaches will vote on Rookie and Coach of the Year for each sport next week.

There is no admission fee to attend the MIAC Cross Country Championships. Parking is available on both sides of Montreal Avenue, Edgecumbe Road, and neighborhoods around the golf courses. Bicycles and non-service animals are strictly prohibited at the course.

Fans who are not traveling to St. Paul will have access to unofficial results soon after the action concludes, courtesy of Wayzata Results.

The MIAC has a championship home page for the event, which will include results and photos as they become available.
