BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Declan Vahey of the Gustavus Adolphus College men's swim & dive team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Vahey won the 200 backstroke (1:52.43), 200 IM (1:55.55), 100 backstroke (50.94), and helped the Gusties win the 400 medley relay (3:26.03) at the Luther Invite last weekend. The first-year also placed second in the 100 butterfly (52.12), 800 freestyle relay (7:07.12), and 400 freestyle relay (3:08.47). Vahey also had a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:25.18).
