COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Gustavus women's track & field team sits in fifth place after Friday's events at the MIAC Indoor Championships, while the men are in seventh. The Gusties earned six All-Conference honors in the first day of team competition with the second and final day set to begin at noon Saturday.Â
Megan Geraets highlighted the day with a championship performance in the long jump, winning the MIAC title for the second consecutive season with a distance of 18-6.0. Geraets also eclipsed the women's 400-meter facility record with a time of 57.07 for second place.Â
Kate Carlson earned All-Conference as well, taking second place in the 60-meter with a time of 7.74, while
Allison Stacy finished fifth in 7.97.Â
Alli Graff was just shy of All-MIAC honors, taking fourth place in the pole vault with a clearance of 11-0.25.Â
In the 60-hurdles,
Laura Thauvin and
Emily Podulke took fifth and seventh, respectively, crossing the line in 9.41 and 9.59.
Rebecca Hoffman finished 15th in the weight throw with a mark of 40-10.5.
For the men,
Tyler Smith earned All-MIAC in the 800-meter, taking second place in 1:55.12.
Brendan Carlson and
Cole Matetich also joined the All-Conference team in the high jump, tying for third place at 6-3.25.Â
The DMR team of
Nick Brauer,
Tyler Heil,
Markus Rupnow,
Carson Roehl finished fifth in 10:29.80.Â
Isaiah Subah took 10th in the long jump with a mark of 21-0.5.
Tennessee Fossen led the Gustie pack in the 400-meter with a time of 51.96 for 13th place.
Will Janzen finished 13th in the 5000-meter, while Henry Lansem was the lone Gustie running the mile, taking 17th place in 4:37.94.Â
