BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Gustavus sophomore Danny Gavin has been selected MIAC Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Gavin hit .667 in six games last week, collecting 16 hits in 24 at-bats to increase his season batting average from .396 to a now MIAC-leading .481. Gavin had at least three hits in four of the six games, highlighted by a perfect 4-for-4 performance in a 13-3 win over Carleton on Friday. Gavin scored 10 runs, had five RBI from the leadoff spot, hit two doubles, and two home runs. He also stole four bases and walked five times, reaching base safely in 21 of his 29 plate appearances for a .724 on-base percentage. Gavin extending his hitting streak to nine games and now has three four-hit performances this season.
