SAINT PETER, Minn. – Three first-year Gustavus Adolphus College head coaches earned wins in their first contests as Gusties on Friday as
Lauren Johnson,
Tyler Oliver, and
Jacob Voss each led their team to victory in their season openers.
Johnson, the women's soccer head coach, earned her first win as a head coach with a 4-0 shutout victory at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Oliver, the men's soccer head coach, won his first game as a Gustie in a 2-1 home victory over the University of Chicago.
Voss, the volleyball head coach, led his team to a 3-0 sweep of Puget Sound out on the west cost in Tacoma, Washington.
All three teams will compete again this weekend as volleyball has two more matches in Washington on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., men's soccer competes at home again on Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m., and women's soccer will also be in action on Sunday with a 2:00 p.m. road game.
