Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at D3 Classic

9/14/2025 11:30:00 PM

HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's golf team competed in the D3 Classic this past weekend. After placing third in Saturday's opener at +21, the Gusties fell to fifth with a Sunday round of +29 to finish +50 for the tournament.

"We did not get off on the right foot today, we were a little anxious after a really solid round yesterday," said head coach Scott Moe. "We will learn to adjust and get better under those circumstances. I thought we rally in the middle. Exciting today when Addy holed out from 203 yards for eagle and then birdied the next. Our players have high expectations, and we are getting closer to meeting those early in the year."

Lauren Hubbart tied for sixth place overall out of the field of 97 golfers. The senior finished +8 over the two-round tournament, shooting for par on day one and +8 on day two.

"Congratulations to Lauren for finishing tied for sixth," said Moe. "Looking forward to our next tournament as we get to see Braemar in tournament conditions as we prepare for the conference tournament in a few weeks."

Addison Longie followed with the second-best Gustavus score, placing 14th overall at +11. Longie improved from a round of +7 on day one to shoot +4 on Sunday.

Layla Mathews tied for 20th overall, shooting +14. The first year shot +6 on Saturday and +8 on Sunday.

Riley Zebroski finished +17 for the Gusties to tie for 28th overall. The junior shot +8 in the opening round and +9 on the final day.

Up next for the Gusties is the St. Kate's Invitational starting Saturday, September 20 and running until Sunday, September 21.
