Maddox Lee (Hugo, Minn.) rounded off her pentathlon career with an 11th place finish in the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships while sophomore
Emily Podulke (Hastings, Minn.) finished in 17th.
In the first event, the 55-meter hurdles, Podulke led with an 8.97, putting her in eighth place with 779 points after the first event. Podulke also qualified for the 55-meter hurdles as an individual, set to compete in lane eight in the third heat tomorrow, set for 4:30 p.m. in Northfield. Lee ran a 13th-best 9.32, earning 708 points after the first event.
In the high jump, Podulke once again led the Gusties with an 11th place clearance of 1.44m while Lee scored 523 points with a 14th best 1.41m clearance which moved her up one position from 13th to 12th place through two.
The shot put came next, with both Gusties falling three positions when it was all said and done. Lee led this event with a 8.12m mark, which put her in 15th overall with a 13th-place performance. Podulke finished in 16th with a 7.97m heave.
The fourth event was the long jump, where Lee finished 11th to move back up into 12th place at 2128 points, thanks to a 4.74m leap. Podulke unfortunately fouled, dropping her down five spots heading into the final event, the 800-meter.
Lee finished her pentathlon career with a seventh place finish in the 800-meter, clocking a time of 2:33.07 to move her up one spot into 11th at 2783 points. Podulke finished in 14th with a time of 2:43.83 to bring her meet total to 2261 total points.
While the pentathlon is over, both individuals are still set to compete later this weekend. Podulke will run in the 55-meter hurdles at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon, while Lee will compete 30 minutes later in the pole vault.
