NEW ORLEANS – Molly Liston of the Gustavus Adolphus College women's track & field team has earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors for her time in the 5000 meter run this winter, the association announced on Wednesday.
Liston's set a new Gustavus record in the 5000m at the Chuck Peterson Open on December 5. The senior crushed the previous school record of 17:30.02, set in 2006 by Kourtney Joyce, with a time of 17:11.07. The Richfield native maintained record-setting pace throughout the race, running 1000m times of 3:24.98, 3:25.29, 3:27.42, 3:29.41, and 3:23.97 to break the record.
The Gusties next compete at the Optimistic Open hosted by Saint John's University, beginning their outdoor season on Saturday, March 28.
