BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced their Elite 22 honorees for the winter season on Thursday with two Gusties being recognized.
Isaac Dearborn of the men's basketball team and
Jade Anstine of the men's track & field team earned the awards for their respective sports.
The MIAC Elite 22 Award is presented to the student-athletes with the highest cumulative grade-point average who participated in the MIAC Playoffs for team sports or earned All-Conference for individual sports. Each winner must be a junior or senior and in at least their second full academic year at their current institution.
Dearborn has the highest GPA amongst men's basketball student-athletes on MIAC playoff teams at 3.98 as an education major. On the court, the junior is shooting 35.7% from the floor and 37.5% from three-point range as the Gusties made the MIAC Playoffs and are advancing to the Sweet 16.
Anstine leads all men's track and field student-athletes named All-MIAC with a with a 4.0 GPA as a nursing major. On the track, the junior earned All-Conference honors in three events: the 60-meter, the 200-meter, and the 4x200 meter relay.
