INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Gustavus swim & dive junior
Braden Ripken is competing this week in the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships. Ripken made his way to the championship meet with his time in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a 53.76 at the MIAC Championship to tie for eighth place in the nation. The junior is also competing in the 50 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke this week.
On Wednesday morning, Ripken swam in the prelims for the 50 freestyle. He entered the meet with the 47
th seed time of the 53 swimmers in the event at 20.67. In the prelims, Ripken placed 46
th of 49 with a time of 21.01.
After a rest day Thursday, Ripken will compete on Friday in the 100 breaststroke where he is seeded ninth of 32 with his time of 53.76. The prelims will take place at 9:00 a.m. CT with the finals set for 5:00 p.m. CT. The top eight finishers in the finals will earn All-American honors.
Ripken will close out the championship meet on Saturday with a race in the 200 breaststroke, in which he is seeded 27
th of 28 with a time of 2:07.55.
