5/12/2026 2:00:00 PM

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The MIAC announced the 2026 Baseball Awards on Tuesday and two Gustavus players, Jackson Golberg and Brayden Kohls, are recipients of All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Sophomore Jackson Golberg (Savage, Minn.) was a mainstay at second base for the Gusties and had great numbers the season, leading the team in multiple categories. The sophomore maintained a .336 batting average across 35 games and an OPS of .878, taking 119 at-bats. Of eligible players, Golberg had the best on-base percentage as well, getting on base 42.4 percent of the time. He was 10-for-11 on stolen base attempts and in the field, had a .948 fielding percentage and was involved in 14 double plays. The Savage native had a team-best five hits in a game against Saint John's while also scoring three runs in the same game. Against Bethany Lutheran, Golberg was just a double away from the cycle as well, responsible for three of the five runs the team scored that day. This is Golberg's first honor.

Junior Brayden Kohls (Norwood, Minn.) was an iron man this season, starting all 39 games for Gustavus. Kohls had a team-best 146 at-bats this season and used them well, ranking in the top 20 in the MIAC in multiple categories. Kohls had the third-most triples in the MIAC this season at six, while also accounting for the 10th most runs at 40. The junior was 12th in stolen bases (12-14), 12th in home runs (5), 14 th in walks drawn (23), 15th in total bases (77), and 15th in slugging (.542). Playing center field, Kohls had a .990 fielding percentage with only one error on the season.  This is Kohls' second recognition, being named an All-Conference member last year, helping the 2025 team to a MIAC Regular Season and Playoff Championship.

The Gustavus baseball team ended their season at 19-20 (10-10 MIAC) and will look forward to the 2027 season, bringing back most of their core.
