GREENWOOD, Ind. – Gage Gohl of the No. 23 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team has been named a 2026 Men's Tennis Academic All-American. Selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) and announced on Wednesday, the award is reserved for college student athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom.
Gohl was named to the Academic All-America First Team for Division III. The senior is a Communication Studies and Sports Management double major with a 3.97 GPA. This year, Gohl went 19-13 overall with a 9-9 record at #1 singles, a 10-4 record in tournaments, and an undefeated 5-0 record in the MIAC. In doubles, the senior finished the year with a 30-6 record with a 14-2 record in tournament matches and a 16-4 record in duals at #1 doubles, going 5-0 in conference matches.
This is the second CSC Academic All-American award for Gohl, who was also named a First Team honoree last year. In addition to this award, the senior also earned both ITA and NCAA All-American honors this season. In the MIAC, Gohl earned Singles Player of the Year, Doubles Team of the Year, the Arthur Ashe Award, and All-Conference recognition in both singles and doubles.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, began the distinguished Academic All-America program in 1952. It is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges, and Canadian institutions.
As a program this year, the Gusties men's tennis team had a 20-10 overall record. In the MIAC, Gustavus won all nine matches to clinch their 56th overall and 37th consecutive MIAC Regular Season Championship, improving their all-time record in conference regular season games to 595-3. In the conference postseason, the Gusties won their 15th consecutive and 18th all-time MIAC postseason title.
