SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus women's basketball team has been honored in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Honor Roll, the WBCA announced Tuesday. The Gusties held the 15th best team GPA among all NCAA Division III institutions this season to couple with a strong year on the court, capped off with a fifth straight NCAA tournament appearance.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. A team must have a combined GPA of 3.0 or better and be nominated by its head coach who must be a member of the WBCA to be recognized. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

Gustavus made the grade this season with a 3.777 team GPA, which is a jump from last year's 3.729 team GPA. Last year's 3.729 was good for the 21st best team GPA and this year's pushed the team up five spots to 16th across Division III. 

The Gustavus women's basketball team finished the season with an 18-9 (14-4 MIAC) record, which included a second place finish in the MIAC standings and an NPI high enough to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships.
