NORMAN, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Association of America has announced their Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars for the 2025-26 season and three Gusties have made the list. Junior MIAC Elite Scholar-Athlete award winner Blake Forrest is joined by seniors Wyatt Carlson and Chris Gutuza. 

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Junior financial accounting major Blake Forrest (Maple Grove, Minn.) earned the award on the course with a 75.2 scoring average which included four top-10 finishes throughout the season. Forrest was also the MIAC Elite Scholar Athlete award recipient for men's golf, which honors the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in their sport while also achieving the highest academic standard among their peers. 

Senior public accounting major Wyatt Carlson (Wayzata, Minn.) had a 74.6 scoring average over the course of 28 rounds this season, which included one top-five finish and two more top-10 finishes. In addition, Carlson shot a 71 for the lowest round of his season and ranked third in scoring average on the team. 

The final recipient for the Gusties is senior physics major Chris Gutuza (Johannesburg, South Africa), who led the team all season. Gutuza was named MIAC All-Conference and PING All-Region, in which a 73.2 scoring average certainly helped. Gutuza also carded the lowest round in school history, a 63 at the Minnesota Golf Classic and the second lowest round of the season for Gustavus as well, a 66 at the Golfweek October Classic while remaining stellar in the classroom through graduation. 

The Gustavus men's golf team finished the season at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships, where the team placed 29th. During the 2025-26 season, the team won five events.
