EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Gustavus men's golf team wrapped up their first event of the year on Monday, tying for 11th place at the Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite. 

The team was led by sophomore Kyle Peterson (Duluth, Minn.) who used a strong Day 2 to finish +7 (150). Peterson shot a 73 at the par-72 Wild Ridge, using three birdies to reach that score. Sophomore Charlie Looker (Cottage Grove, Minn.) had a much better second day, shooting a +4 (76), the same score as first-year Noah Gratil (Mellieha, Malta). Looker ended +11 (154) while Gratil was just one shot back at +12 (155) in his first college meet. The final scorer for the Gusties was senior Blake Forrest (Maple Grove, Minn.) who shot +7 (79) today and +14 (157) overall.

The team finished +44 after a +16 second day, tying for 11th place with Saint John's and one squad from Bethel. The Gusties had eight birdies on Monday and limited themselves to only five double bogeys, something that plagued the team on Sunday. 

Gustavus is back in action on Sunday and Monday, traveling to the Bethel Invitational for a 54-hole event at Pioneer Creek Golf Course.
