The Gustavus women's hockey team got back on the winning track with a solid 2-0 win over UW-Stevens Point in Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties got second period goals
Tam Meuwissen and
Mollie Carroll and that is all they would need to claim the important victory.
Danielle Justice picked up the win in the nets as she registered 23 saves and posted her second shutout of the season.
Meuwissen's goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, was a power play goal at 6:59 of the second period and then
Mollie Carroll gave the Gusties some breathing room as increased the lead to 2-0 at the 11:53 mark.
The Gusties will continue non-conference play with a home matchup against UW-River Falls on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. Gustavus tied UW-River Falls 3-3 in the first meeting on Nov. 13.
