MEQUON, Wis. - The Gustavus men's hockey team completed the non-conference series sweep over Concordia-Wisconsin 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. After starting the season 2-4-1, the Gusties are unbeaten in their last six games and are now 7-4-2 overall.
Drew Holt, who scored two goals last night, tallied what proved the be the game-winning goal 5:44 into today's game.
Wilmer Svensson and
Jack Kubitz assisted on the score and the score remained 1-0 after the first.
The second and final goal of the game came at the 15:45 mark of the second frame as
Grant Ellings scored with the help of Holt and
Jack Anderson.
The Gustie penalty kill was perfect on the day in five opportunities, including a crucial stop at the end of the game in a 6-on-4 scenario with an empty Falcon net.
Jackson Hjelle highlighted the game with a career-high 46 saves, 19 of which in the third period, for his second shutout in his past three games.
