SARTELL, Minn. and JACKSON, Wis. — The Gustavus men's tennis team sent a pair of teams to compete on the road, with one group defeating Saint John's 9-0 and the other falling to regional rival and No. 6 U Chicago.

The Gusties continued their dominant conference play, sweeping the Johnnies 9-0.
In doubles play, the pairs of Oscar Wikström and
Geoffrey Youngs and
Ali Derbani and
Odin Fouchier won their doubles matches by scores of 8-2.
Luke Fridinger and
Taona Mhwandagara won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
Gustavus won all singles matches in two sets. Derbani claimed his victory at No. 5 with a pair of dominant 6-1 wins. Mhwandagara won 6-2 and 6-0 at No. 1, while Fridinger and Youngs won No. 2 and No. 3 in a combination of 6-2 and 6-3 wins. Wikström claimed his win at No. 3 6-3, 6-1, while Fouchier closed the match out with a pair of 6-4 wins at No. 6.
Gustavus 2, No. 6 U Chicago 7
Across the border, another team of Gusties faced regional rival and nationally-ranked No. 6 U Chicago. The Gusties were bested by the Maroons, 7-2.
Caleb Fridinger and
Dominik Knutson picked up the only doubles point for Gustavus, winning 8-6 at No. 3. The other two doubles matches went to tiebreakers, with Chicago claiming both over Gustie pairs

In singles play,
Gage Gohl won for the Gusties at No. 3, claiming a 7-6, 6-0 victory over Arjun Asokumar, ranked 15th in the region in singles play. Chicago claimed four of the five remaining singles points in two sets.
The Gusties, now 15-7 overall and 5-0 in the MIAC, will have another split Saturday next weekend, sending a group to Hamline and hosting Augustana (S.D.) in Saint Peter.
