GREENSBORO, N.C. - The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region teams were released Tuesday and Gustavus first baseman
Chris Knowles was selected All-Region 9 Third Team.
Knowles, who recently earned his second straight All-Conference selection, led the team at the plate this season with a league-leading .456 batting average. Knowles ranked second in the MIAC in both runs batted in (51) and slugging percentage (.779), and ranked third in both hits (62) and home runs (10). Knowles boasted an OPS of 1.301 and an on-base percentage of .522. Knowles led the team with nine stolen bases in 12 attempts and was walked 17 times. His 106 total bases were second most in the MIAC. Knowles was named NCBWA National Hitter of the Week honorable mention on March 10 and set the school record with a 27-game hitting streak, spanning back to the 2023 season.
Returing for a fifth season next year, Knowles has already left his mark in the Gustavus baseball record book. Knowles currently ranks sixth in career home runs (19), eighth in RBI (105), 11th in batting average (.359), 17th in doubles (25), 18th in runs (93), 19th in hits (132). Defensively, he ranks third in career put outs (711) and is 81 shy of the program record, held by former teammate
Jack Hanson (2019-23).
