BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2023-24 Men's Tennis Awards on Tuesday and Gustavus is well represented.
Marco Siviero earned MIAC Singles Player of the Year, while
Gage Gohl and
Tyler Haddorff garnered MIAC Doubles Team of the Year.
Rafael Costa,
Luke Fridinger,
Taona Mhwandagara, and Siviero were named to the All-Conference Singles Team. Gohl, Haddorff, Mhwandagara, Oscar Wikstrom, and
Geoffrey Youngs were named to the All-Conference Doubles Team. Honorable mention singles went to
Jack Bergmeyer,
Josh Christensen, Gohl, and
Dominik Knutson, while Christensen and Siviero were honorable mention doubles. Bergmeyer, Christensen, and
Caleb Fridinger were selected to the All-Playoff Team.
Siviero earns the first ever MIAC Singles Player of the Year after playing at the No. 1 spot for the MIAC regular season and playoff champion Gusties. Siviero went 3-0 in MIAC singles matches and is 14-11 overall. In doubles play, Siviero went 3-0 in the conference and is 22-10 overall, playing primarily at No. 1.
Gohl and Haddorff claim MIAC Doubles Team of the Year after going 23-6 overall in doubles play this season (1-0 MIAC), while leading the Gusties to the MIAC regular season and playoff championships. Gohl and Haddorff won the ITA Midwest Regional Doubles title and competed at the ITA Cup last fall.
