AUSTIN, Texas - College Sports Communicators released the 2023-24 Men's Tennis Academic All-America Team for NCAA Division III on Wednesday and
Marco Siviero earned Second Team honors.

Siviero, a rising senior majoring in management and communication studies with a 3.85 GPA, had a standout junior season as the 2023-24 MIAC Singles Player of the Year, 2023 ITA Doubles All-American, and 2024 NCAA Singles All-American. Siviero started his junior campaign by finishing as the doubles runner up at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships. Siviero, with partner
Josh Christensen, went on to upset the No. 1 seed in the first round of the ITA Cup to earn All-America honors. Siviero and Christensen made it all the way to the national semifinals at the ITA Cup before their fall season came to a close.
In the dual match spring season, Siviero played No. 1 singles and finished with a 10-8 overall record at the top spot (3-0 MIAC) and went 15-13 overall for the season. Siviero played the bulk of the season at No. 1 doubles and finished with a 23-11 overall doubles record. He went 11-3 at No. 1 and 5-3 at No. 2. Siviero finished the season at the NCAA Singles Championships, winning his first round match to earn All-America status before falling in the round of 32.
Siviero has 90 career victories with records of 38-36 in singles and 52-26 in doubles. He has helped the Gusties capture their last three MIAC regular season and playoff championships, including three NCAA tournament appearances.
Siviero captures the Gustavus men's tennis program's 14th CSC Academic All-America accolade. The men's tennis program has now gone six consecutive years with an Academic All-American after Chase Johnson and Michael O'Neil were selected Second Team in 2019, O'Neil First Team in 2020, and
Nick Aney First Team in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Siviero is also the third Gustie to earn Academic All-America this academic year and
135th in school history, marking the most in the MIAC and 13th most in Division III. To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 GPA, be in the lineup for 70 percent of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores, reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution, and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
