ROME, Ga. – Gage Gohl, Tyler Haddorff, and Dominik Knutson of the Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team are competing in the ITA Cup this week. On the opening day of the tournament on Thursday, the duo of Gohl and Haddorff advanced to the doubles quarterfinals and Gohl earned his way to the singles quarterfinals.
 
In doubles, Gohl and Haddorff faced Heyang Li and Albert Mackey of UChicago in the opening round of 16. The Gusties duo won the opening set 6-4. They then clinched the match with a 6-2 second-set victory to punch their ticket to the national quarterfinals.
 
In singles, Gohl defeated Andreas Sillaste of Amherst College in a 6-2, 7-5 victory to advance to the quarterfinal round. Knutson battled Mark Kneiss of Bowdoin College, falling 6-2, 6-0.
 
Up next is day two of the ITA Cup on Friday, October 17. Gohl and Haddorff will take on Jacob Linares and Nicholas Fischer of Hobart College in the doubles quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. In singles, Gohl will battle Ethan Green of Denison University and Knutson is set to face Alexander Stage of Whitman College with both matches taking place at 9:00 a.m.
