WAVERLY, Iowa – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's cross country team competed in the Dan Huston Invite hosted by Wartburg College on Saturday. The Gusties finished third out of the field of 15 competing teams while
Molly Liston won the race and made program history in the process.
Liston placed first out of the field of 211 runners with a time of 21:45.7, setting a new PR. With that time, Liston becomes just the fourth Gustavus runner to break 22 minutes in the 6k. It is also the fourth fastest time in the history of the program, trailing only three times all set by alumna Hailey Harren in 2006, establishing Liston as officially being the second-fastest Gustie in the history of the program.
Addison Enfield had the second-best Gustavus finish, placing 12
th overall with a time of 23:05.4.
Anna Forbord also finished in the top 20, running the 6k in 23:16.8 to place 16
th overall.
Mackenzie Murphy took 26
th overall with a time of 24:08.4.
Francesca Geffre had the fifth time for the Gusties, finishing in 24:54.1 to place 56
th overall.
Up next for the Gusties is a trip to Waseca on Saturday, October 11 for the Coach Finanger Invitational starting at 11:30 a.m.
