DECORAH, Iowa - The Gustavus Adolphus College men's swimming & diving team is competing in the Luther Invitational this weekend. The Gusties finished first out of the field of eight teams with a score of 980 points. UW-Whitewater followed in second with 572 points and Augustana rounded out the top three teams with 541.5 points.
Declan Vahey won the 200 backstroke (1:52.43), 200 IM (1:55.55), and 100 backstroke (50.94)
Aiden Carlson placed first in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.79) and 100 butterfly (51.37).
Braden Ripken won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.73.
Ben Kell was the runner-up in the 200 butterfly, placing second in 1:58.52.
Charles Newton placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.21.
Aidynn Havermann was the runner-up in the 400 IM at 4:14.84.
Logan Cyr took third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:50.69
The Gusties placed first in the 400 medley relay (3:26.03) and the 200 medley relay (1:31.56). Gustavus also took second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:08.47) and third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:25.18).
