BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gustavus junior forward
Lily Mortenson (Champlin, Minn.) was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year and four other Gusties earned All-Conference honors alongside Mortenson when the 2025 MIAC Women's Hockey Awards were announced on Monday, March 10.

Kaitlyn Holland (Sr., Aberdeen, S.D.),
Brooke Power (5th, Lakeville, Minn.), and
Abby Elliott (Sr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) joined Mortenson on the All-Conference team.
Kylie Ligday (So., Lake Elmo, Minn.) was named Honorable Mention All-MIAC, and
Ellie Groebner (Fy., Apple Valley) and
Lily Timmons (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) earned spots on the All-Playoff team.
Mortenson is the eighth Gustie to be named a MIAC Player of the Year, collecting the program's 13th honor. She's the third consecutive Offensive Player of the Year for the Gusties, following two-time award winner
Hailey Holland '24. Gustavus has won every offensive award since the Player of the Year award was split into offensive and defensive categories prior to the 2022-23 season.
The junior enjoyed a career year, leading the conference in every major offensive statistical category. Mortenson tallied 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points in conference competitions. She registered 108 shots on goal and won 237 faceoffs, the most by any player in the league. She added six goals on the power play, a game-winner, and a pair of hat tricks, and was three times named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Outside of MIAC games, Mortenson added an additional five goals and nine assists for 45 total points, the most by any Gustavus player since Allie Schwab '12 tallied 46 off 25 goals and 21 assists in 30 games in the 2011-12 season. She is also the first player since All-American teammate Holland to score more than one hat trick in a season, and has nearly doubled the point total of her standout rookie season (13 G, 13 A). Through games of March 9, Mortenson ranks second among all NCAA Division III women's hockey players in points per game (1.67), third in faceoff wins (352), fifth in goals per game (0.78), and seventh in assists per game (0.89).
In her first season of collegiate hockey, Hemr logged seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points, making her campaign for Rookie of the Year while playing on the Gusties' top line. Hemr's seven goals were the seventh-most among players in MIAC competitions, while her 10 assists were the fourth-most. Hemr totaled a point in at least 16 games this season, and scored more than one point in 10 different contests.
Holland earned her second All-Conference honor after totaling 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in her senior campaign. Holland leads all of NCAA Division III with eight power play goals, all of which were scored against conference opponents. She additionally owns four game-winners, and has totaled 11 multi-point games this year, eight of which were against teams in the MIAC. Holland's 12 assists against MIAC teams ranks third in the conference, while her 23 points are second to only Mortenson. She tied for second in goal scoring with Augsburg's Nora Stepan, while her four game-winning goals were tied for first in the league.
Power scored six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in conference play in her final season of collegiate hockey. Her 10 assists ranked fourth in the conference, behind teammates Holland and Mortenson, while her 16 points were tied for seventh in the conference. Power has enjoyed a historical career for the Gusties, ranking 10th in program scoring with 114 career points, seven behind that of former teammate Tina Press '23. Among current women's DIII hockey players, Power ranks first in career game-winning goals (20), second in overall goals (67) and power play goals (21), third in short-handed goals (five), and eighth in points (114). She is the 25th player in MIAC history to receive All-Conference recognition in four seasons.
Elliott has played her best season in her final one, leading the Gusties from the blue line as one of the team's top defenders. After entering the season without her first goal, Elliott has now scored nine, alongside seven assists, for 16 points in her senior season. In conference play, Elliott was fifth on the Gustie roster in scoring with six goals and six assists for 12 points. She tallied three on the power play as well. Defensively, Elliott has helped the Gusties hold MIAC opponents to an average of 1.50 goals against, the second-lowest mark in the conference.
In addition to the five All-Conference awards, Ligday was also honored as All-MIAC Honorable Mention for the second year in a row. The sophomore played in all 18 conference contests, scoring a goal and assisting seven others from the blue line. She ranked in the top-25 of all players in the MIAC for both assists and shots on goal.
The MIAC additionally named eight players to the All-Playoff team. First-years Groebner and Timmons were the Gusties' two honorees. Both played a key role in the defensive performance of the team through the playoffs, shutting out Hamline in the semifinals before holding league-leading Augsburg to two goals in the title game Saturday.
Augsburg's Stepan was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, while Ana Myers of St. Catherine was named the Rookie of the Year. Allie Urlaub of Saint Mary's was honored as the Sheila Brown Award winner, which honors one player yearly for their contributions to her team in leadership, sportsmanship, volunteer work, academics, and athletics. St. Olaf's Tracy Johnson was voted by her peers as the MIAC Coach of the Year.
The Gustavus women's hockey team (21-6-0, 15-3-0 MIAC) received one of four at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament, and will host St. Norbert (Wis.) Saturday March 15 at Don Roberts Ice Rink for a first round match-up.
