WALTHAM, Mass. - No. 14 Gustavus men's tennis wrapped up its weekend trip to Massachusetts on Sunday with a 4-3 loss at Brandeis University. The Gusties move to 9-9 overall.
The two squads split the top two doubles spots with
Gage Gohl and
Tyler Haddorff winning 6-3 at No. 1, while the Judges won 6-3 at No. 2. The home team then secured the doubles point by winning the tiebreak 7-6 at No. 3.
Singles play was split down the middle 3-3, but since the Judges earned the doubles point, they were able to secure the match. All singles matches were decided in straight sets. Gohl won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2, Haddorff won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5, and
Luke Fridinger won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6.
Gustavus has off until Saturday when it gets back to conference play with a home match against St. Olaf.
