CLAREMONT, Calif. - No. 14 Gustavus men's tennis suffered a 4-3 loss at No. 29 Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday to conclude its spring break trip. The Gusties move to 4-7 overall.
The Gusties earned the doubles point by winning two out of three.
Gage Gohl and
Tyler Haddorff won 6-3 at No. 1, while
Josh Christensen and
Taona Mhwandagara won in a breaker 7-6 at No. 3.
The Sagehens made their moves in singles play, winning in straight sets at Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 5 to secure the victory.
Dominik Knutson won 7-6, 7-6 at No. 4 and
Luke Fridinger won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6.
Gustavus now returns to Minnesota and MIAC play next Saturday at home against Hamline. The Gusties also host Luther on Saturday.
