SAINT PETER, Minn. - No. 25 Gustavus men's tennis earned a pair of shutout victories on Friday, handing Saint John's a 9-0 defeat in the first outdoor home match of the season before a 7-0 win over Bethany Lutheran in the bubble. A split squad for the Gusties was handed a 5-2 loss at Augustana (S.D.). The Gusties move to 14-11 overall and 6-0 in the MIAC.

Takura Mhwandagara and
Owen Skanse started doubles play with a swift 8-0 win at No. 3.
Marco Siviero and
Dominik Knutson followed with an 8-2 win at the top spot, while
Josh Christensen and
Noah Hakim secured the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win at No. 2.Â
All six singles matches were won in straight sets with the Gusties not losing more than three games in any set. From top to bottom, the lineup included Siviero, Christensen, Knutson, Hakim, Mhwandagara, and Skanse.Â

The Gusties rolled their momentum into the non-conference match against the Vikings, who field a roster of just four players.Â
Odin Fouchier and
Joseph Li won 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, followed by a 6-1 win at No. 2 by
Marty Anderson and
Jacob Lucas.
Elijah Olson and
Aadityaa Juniwal won by forfeit at No. 3.Â
The Gusties then won the top four singles matches in straight sets without losing more than one game in any set. The lineup from top to bottom included Fouchier, Li, Lucas, and Juniwal. Olson and Anderson won by forfeit at Nos. 5 and 6.Â
Gustavus 2, Augustana 5
The Vikings won the doubles point with victories of 6-3 and 6-4 and Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
Gage Gohl and
Tyler Haddorff won 6-4 at the top spot.Â
The Gusties earned their two points in singles play as Haddorff won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2 and
Yash Bahalkar won 7-6, 7-6 at No. 6.Â
Gustavus has off until next Saturday when it travels to Carleton.Â
