HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus women's golf team wrapped up competition at the annual Gustie Spring Invite at Emerald Greens (par-72) Sunday morning, April 13, finishing third as a team in the field of 11. Individually, Maren Masters (So., Shakopee, Minn.) finished third to lead the Gusties, who shot a 321 as a team on Sunday.

Macalester climbed the leaderboard with a team 303 in round two to finish first with a 332-303-635. Saint Benedict finished second with a 328-314-642, while the Gusties carded a total 329-321-650. CSB's Catherine Jance took first with a 74-73-147, followed by MAC's Bailey Lengfelder, who shot a two-under 70 to finish second ahead of Masters.

Masters was just two over on Sunday, carding 10 pars as well as three birdies, one of which was a two-shot performance on hole 13. She finished seven over par for the weekend, and led all athletes with seven total birdies, an average of 4.63 on par-5 holes, and a 2.88 on par-3s.

Riley Zebroski (So., Watertown, S.D.) moved up six spots on day two, shooting a 79 with a pair of birdies and eight pars to finish 11th. Lauren Hubbart (Jr., Hastings, Minn.) also climbed six spots on Sunday, totaling a trio of birdies for an 82 and 22nd overall. She shared the leaderboard spot with Emily Kolb (Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D.), who carded a round two 86. Mary Kate Hewitt (So., Edina, Minn.) rounded out the top five for the Gusties with a day two 97.

For the Gustie individuals, Jenna Piepkorn (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) collected an 86 in Sunday's round, while Josie Raiche (So., Orono, Minn.) posted an 87, a season- and career-low for the sophomore.

"We had a great opportunity this weekend to be right in contention and feel some of the stress and pressure of being towards the top of the leaderboard," said head coach Scott Moe '95 following Sunday's round. "The old saying goes, 'Pressure is a privilege,' and we were able to experience that. I'm proud of how we responded and finishing third in a strong field is a great showing.

"Thank you to Emerald Greens for being great hosts. Maren [Masters] had a great tournament, she was able to capitalize on a number of birdie opportunities. Happy for how she responded, as well. Riley [Zebroski] came back with a very solid round today finishing at 11th. Next Friday we are going to play a dual match versus Bethel at Oneika Ridge, which will be a lot of fun, followed up by Bethel's tournament on Saturday. I feel like we are making a lot of great progress and showing signs of our hard work during the off-season. I am looking forward to our final two weekends of golf."

The Gusties next compete against Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19, first in a dual against Bethel, followed by the one-day Bethel Rumble at the Ridge, both played at Oneka Ridge Golf Course.
