WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. – The women of Gustavus golf joined six other MIAC squads in a nine-team, one-day event at Oneka Ridge Golf Course (par 72), taking fifth at the annual Bethel Rumble at the Ridge. The Gusties shot 332 (+44) as a team, while Carleton was the top team in the field with a +24 312.

Lauren Hubbart was the highest finisher for the Gusties, taking eighth overall while carding a plus-seven 79. Saint Benedict's and the MIAC Athlete of Week Catherine Jance won the event with a one-over 73.

Hubbart (Jr., Hastings, Minn.) carded the best round of her spring season so far with a 79 on Saturday, picking up four birdies and shooting seven pars. She was followed by classmate Emily Kolb (Sioux Falls, S.D.), who took 14th with an 81.

Riley Zebroski (So., Watertown, S.D.) was next with an 84 (+12) for 23rd. She and Mary Kate Hewitt (So., Edina, Minn.) each carded a single birdie, with Hewitt finishing 28th as an individual.

Maren Masters (So., Shakopee, Minn.) and Jenna Piepkorn (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) rounded out the Gustie five, with Masters hooting an 88 and Piepkorn one stroke behind with an 89 to finish 34th and 37th, respectively. Josie Raiche (So., Orono, Minn.) posted a 92 with five pars as an individual.

"The women put in a good effort today, and several times it just didn't show up in our scoring," said assistant coach Randall Stuckey '83. "We need to continue to improve our shots around the green and our putting. We will work hard this week and as we finish our spring season next weekend at Carleton and St. Olaf. Looking forward to them putting it all together this week."

The team concludes the spring season next weekend, April 26-27, at the St. Olaf-Carleton Invitational at Willingers Golf Club (par 72) in Northfield.
