SAINT PETER, Minn. - Gustavus fifth-year senior pitcher Adam Biewen was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday. Also named MIAC Pitcher of the Week, Biewen was selected to the national team after striking out a career-high 14 batters in a complete-game victory over Hamline on April 15. Biewen tossed six scoreless innings - including four three-up, three-down frames - before the Pipers tallied their lone run of the game in the seventh. Biewen allowed just four base runners against 24 batters faced, with three hits and one walk issued as Gustavus earned an 8-1 win.

In his last four starts against conference opponents, Biewen is 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA. In those games he has allowed an average of just 4.5 hits per game and has struck out 37 batters (9.25 per game).
