INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA announced its selection of individuals for the Division III Men's Tennis Championships on Wednesday and Gustavus will be represented by
Gage Gohl,
Tyler Haddorff, and
Marco Siviero.
2024 national champions Gohl and Haddorff will look to defend their title in the 16-team doubles competition, while Gohl and Siviero will compete in the draw of 32 singles.
Gohl and Haddorff are No. 10 in the latest ITA doubles national rankings, while Gohl is No. 32 in singles and Siviero is not ranked. Gohl and Haddorff own an 18-6 overall record this season and are 8-2 in their last 10 matches. Their marquee victory of the season was a 6-1 decision over Pat Otero and Andrei Leonov of Chicago, who are currently ranked No. 2. They also beat Jayanth Mallampati and Drew Goldman of Pomona-Pitzer, who are ranked No. 6.
In singles play, Gohl is 18-8 overall and 4-2 since moving to the No. 1 spot on April 5. Siviero is 15-12 this season.
The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. The team championship will take place May 19-22, while the individual championships will be May 23-26, both at Biszantz Family Tennis Center, Claremont, Calif.; hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. The draw for the individual championship will be done by the men's tennis committee and will be released on May 22 not before 1 p.m. Eastern time.
