BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Marko Belak of the Gustavus Adolphus College men's hockey team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Belak earned the win in goal for Gustavus as they upset No. 13/14 UW-Stout with a 4-1 victory last Friday to extent the Gusties' winning streak to nine games, shutting the nationally ranked Blue Devils out for the first 58 minutes while allowing just one goal with 26 saves and a .963 save percentage.
Up next for the Gusties is a two-game MIAC series against the Bethel University Royals starting on the road next Friday, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. before returning home to St. Peter for game two the following evening.
